New Years Resolutions

Happy last day of 2009. I don't know about you guys, but its been a rough and busy year. I won't go into listing all the good and bad things that happened in my life this year, because really, this is a blog about weight loss, not Days of our Lives. LMAO!

Every year for as long as I can remember my NY resolution was to not weigh as much the next NY. I failed every single year. BUT as we all know that will NOT be the case this year. I've made a life changing choice, one of the best of my life so far, so that will not be my resolution this year. Here is the list I made for myself. I hope you ladies (and gents) help keep me accountable. And if you need to put me in check, go right ahead cuz that's what real friends do ya know?

2010 Resolutions

Excercise at least 2 times a week
Cook more, eat out less
Get rid of clothes that are too big (I won't be that size ever again, so why keep them?)
Spend more time playing with my son (like chasing at the park, or going for walks etc)
Spend less money, SAVE SAVE SAVE
Don't hold grudges, learn from them and move on

How does that sound? I don't think its too tall of a order. I can do all of those things, but they will require effort. I've been seeing other bloggers/bandsters choosing a word for themselves for the New Year. After a lot of thought I've chosen two because I just can't choose.

Patience- because I need it. I have a lot going on in my life and without it, I can lose focus.

Persistance- Because this year is going to be full of changes for me. I can't give up. I deserve the happiness and I'm going to be persistant to get it.

So that's my post for the last day of this crazy ass year. We are staying in tonight, making lots of snacks and will watch the ball drop. The only plans I have for the weekend are to CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I love going thru old boxes and seeing the clean end result. Maybe I'll take before and after pictures.

Thank you all for your support this year. I look forward to it in 2010!

Love ya's!

Guess who I am today?

The OLD me! I'm emotionally eating and have had CRAP CRAP CRAP today and now have calorie regret, along with sausage fingers from the salt and sugar. If I can't dump it here, where else can I? Anyone who is my friend on facebook can read about my no-good-very-bad-day yesterday on my page. I won't be posting about it here, for legal reasons.

B- sausage egg and cheese McGriddle
S- handful of almonds, two cookies
L-loaded mashed potatoes, piece of double chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter
S- bag of white cheddar cheezits, piece of candy

Woah mama! I can honestly say that I haven't had a day this bad since BEFORE surgery. Tomorrow is another day, so while I won't go overboard for dinner, I'm going to let myself be comforted and pick it up as I rise from my pillow tomorrow morning.

And that's all I have to say about that! :)

Weigh In

I'm down 1 lb week officially. It's crazy to me how on Friday morning it showed I was at 278 and today it says 281. I barely ate anything this weekend because I still am getting full very quick and not eating much in the way of carbs. Hmmmm....

Ok, I'll be back tonight or tomorrow. Love ya!

One is smiling, one is serious. Please vote TODAY as I have to print it tomorrow! Thanks!

Weigh in

I'm not sure how this happened, seeing as I was unable to really eat more than 2 bites of anything this week.
I'm even. No loss, no gain. On thursday at my fill I showed a 2 lb loss from Monday, but not today. Oh well. Another week begins.
Have a good day

Fly by posting...

I don't normally post on the weekend but I felt the need.
I'm still pb'ing when I eat anything with texture, or if I drink too much. I really really REALLY doubt I'm too full or too tight, it has to be more swollen this time or something. Here is what I tried to have today.

B-coffee-kept it down, but had a lot of tightness
L-2 bites lunchmeat turkey-PB'd, 2 tbsp hummus (fine, but no crackers)

I'm going to a Christmas party tonight and there are going to be some dips, so I'm sure I will stick with those. If this doesn't calm down by Tues or Wed I'll call the dr. I wanted restriction, but not being able to even drink could be a sign of a problem. (I'm sure it's nothing and in a week I'll be back to overeating :P )

Holy restriction Batman!

Um.... I got my 3rd fill yesterday as you all know. This is what I had today.

B-pumpkin spice coffee
L-2 bites ham and beans(minus ham,super mushy)-PB'D!!!!
S-water- PB'D!!!!!

I've PB'd 2 times today. Once after I took two slurps of my bean juice from lunch, i got this pain in my chest and felt dizzy. So off to the bathroom I ran and up the juice came, then the heaving. :::sigh:::

When I got back I got a cup of ice water to soothe my throat. Took two sips and had to run for it again.

I KNOW I'm not too tight, so I must be swollen this time or something. I haven't experienced this before. After my last two fills I was eating mashed potatoes the same night for dinner. Now 24 hours later soup and water and making me PB. I've read this won't last, which is a good and a bad thing. Hmmmmm, interesting.

Have a great weekend. Love ya's!

Christmas Shopping

I'm about half done with my shopping and have some thoughts to put out there.

I may be delusional because I only have one child, but I don't see the need to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on one kid. I have a friend at work that spends $200-$300 per kid! WTF! My son is 3 1/2 and it is true that he doesn't want or need a XBox or Guitar Hero right now, but still people. Isn't that a little excessive?
We got Peyton these things and I think its enough, however I've had people ask me why I got him so little.

Spiderman Scooter
DVD's
pajamas
Color Wonder paper and markers
Candyland game
Hi Ho Cherry-o game
small tv for his playroom

We only spent $120 bucks on him and I think its enough. My sister has two kids, both she and her husband work, but sometimes they struggle with money, especially in the winter when he is laid off(brick layer). Yet every Christmas she spends money like its going out of style because they "deserve" a good christmas since they struggled all year. Hmmmmmmm. I can totally see how the meaning of Christmas is completely gone in this scenerio, and while I'm not dogging my sister, I think that extra money she is spending so frivolously should be put away for those rainy weeks when he gets no paycheck. But then again, that's me.

When I was a kid, my parents would go broke filling the living room so full of gifts, we couldnt walk in the room at all. Now don't get me wrong, I loved that as a kid. But as I've gotten older I guess to me it's more important to get the "perfect" present and have fewer, than to just buy to excess to fill a room.

We are doing christmas this year for 21 people for about $550 total! I'm a thrifty shopper, using ebay and craigslist to find things brand new for way cheaper than a store. Also I got up on Black Friday because to me, the 50% savings on almost everything I got, was way worth the loss of sleep.

I guess this post was a vent, as well as me just getting my thoughts out as I finish making my list of last minute things to get. I'm a christian and believe that Christmas is supposed to be about the birth of Christ, and that presents and the tree are just tradition, so it can be hard for me sometimes to see people acting as though the presents are the whole reason for the season.

I have a case of the Monday's

It's Monday. Bleh. I don't feel like being a whiner today so here is the short short version of my update.

First, thank you for all your wonderful comments on my singing vlog. I watched it like a million times and cringed putting it on here because I was sooooo nervous what people would think. There goes my self conscious ways again.

Second, weigh in today. Nada, zip, zilch. No gain, no loss. I have my 3rd fill this thursday afternoon and will probably only get 2 more cc's, which will bring me to 6 in a 17 cc band. I wish my dr would get moving on this restriction business.

Third, sinuses suck. Mine go bezerk this time of year and today may be the worst sinus headache I've had in recent memory. My eyes are squinted so much they are almost closed.:::sigh::: Oh the joys of living in a place where today's temp is lik 24 degrees.

Ok, I'm gonna try to work today. Nothing exciting in this post, so if you read it. Thanks:)

Love you's!

Kids say the darndest things

Weirdo!

I lost 2 lbs over the week of Thanksgiving? HOLY COW! I ate well and didn't over-indulge but I never in a million years expected to show a loss this week. :-)

I hope everyone had a great holiday. We did, lots of family time and time with my little man. I took a pic this weekend because I kept getting compliments on how my face looked thinner, and I have to say I agree. :)

Weigh in, and other ramblings

Weigh in-Down 2 lbs this week. Total is 32!! :) I wish it was double that, but the damn pnemonia kept me from working out like I wanted to. So my goal is to kick that into high gear so I dont stay at a plateau during the holidays.

My weekend was good, even though I was sick for all of it. I went to see New Moon not once, but twice! I love the books and LOVED the movie. I'm all about Edward, even though Jacob is a tasty morsel, he is 16 and that is just wrong for me at 30 to salivate over. LOL

L- small piece baked chicken, sauteed veggies
S- ff pudding cup, piece of candy
D- 4 turkey meatballs w/ sauce, few bites of pasta

Home sick

I'm home sick today. I woke up and my throat was super swollen, there was nasty dark green phlegm and my ears hurt real bad. So I'm in my sweats, feeling shitty, laying on the couch. I'll post more tomorrow.

Btw, thank you all for your supportive comments on my last post. I spoke to my mom last night, and while there is no definite answer, she understands more about how I feel. Progress is good.

Deep thoughts....

I'm full of them after the emotionally charged Tuesday I had, so bear with me. This post is not weight loss related, just my heart on a screen.

~~~~~~~~~~
Rejection-The act of being rejected, pushed away, denied something or someone, losing.
Failure- The act of not being successful.
Everyone experiences both of these things. I feel that it's how it effects you that molds your next step. I've been rejected for jobs I've applied for, but I pull my bootstraps tighter and keep on truckin. I've failed at a project or goal I've set for myself, and I've taken it in and shaken it off and moved on. Of course these are the easier examples and not why my heart hurts today. I'm experiencing both of these in full force in my personal life and as much as I'd like to tighten those boot straps and shake these things off, I can't. They are too big for that,and while I am a strong woman, it's harder than I ever anticipated.
It's hard to make you understand without telling all the icky details, which I'm not going to do, but I will do my best to sum up how I am feeling. Now, please understand, this is NOT a woah is me...poor Ramona...I'm such a loser type of post. I'm really venting and using a creative outlet besides singing and music to see if it helps me heal a little. Got that?  Good. Let's begin.
I'm in a place in my life where both rejection and failure are working hard together to break down my soul, my spirit, my everything. A lot of it is based on choices I made, and I can live with that part. But I DEPEND on my friends and family, especially my family. I'm the type of person that I will give anything and everything I have if it will help someone, especially family. We have had some serious issues in the last 5 years and while my actions and reactions were not perfect, I did what I could to make every situation easier and better if possible. So in return I expect support. I expect compassion. I expect unconditional love. Is this too hard? Apparently, and this is where part of the rejection comes in. I need my family right now and they are saying they will help me, BUT there are conditions. I'm sorry, what? There are what? Conditions to your assistance? I'm not asking for blood, a organ, money or even your posessions. I'm asking for unwaivering love, support and maybe a place to crash when the shit really hits the fan full speed. I'm being rejected not in a NO WAY JOSE kind of way, but in a....we love you and wanna help...BUT.... Wtf is that?
My tender heart can't understand why me (the good kid in the family) has restrictions on their love and help, but my brothers who have both been in prison and stolen, lied and done major drugs get help without question? Do I really have to resort to ruining my life completely before that kind of help/love steps in? If so, I'm screwed because I don't plan to make it any worse than i already have.
Here is a confession, revelation if you will. My marriage is not doing well and it's mostly my fault. I'm changing and have been for a long time(even pre op) and have been struggling with staying together as a family for my sons sake and saying screw my happiness, the other end is that I don't want to fail. I've been thinking about a trial seperation so we can see if it's meant to be or not. Being together all the time and fighting all the time is very stressful and I can't help but wonder if time apart will relight that spark, or show us that it's out forever. Now I know this is a huge thing to tell on a blog, but I'm always honest with you all. We are seeking counseling, it doesn't seem to be doing much but we go in hopes that it will. I'm at fault for this failure in my life. It's ME that is changing. He is still the amazing, thoughtful, hardworking, caring, great man and father that he has always been. It's my needs and wants that are making me question my happiness. Hence my failure. MY FAILURE.
I don't like failing, but I don't like settling either. I'm obviously confused about how I feel and being the super emotional type, it's taking it's toll on me, on US. Even on our little boy.
My mom, who is one of my BFF's thinks I should stay even if I am unhappy. Why you say? Because she did it for 25 years. She was in a unhappy marriage but stayed for the kids and feels I should do the same. Can I do that? Can I keep my passion and spark bottled up for my sons sake? I don't feel like I can and she can't stand it. I've asked her if I can come stay with her and she said no, because she is determined to make my marriage work and thinks I'm making a mistake. REJECTION.
I've gone waaaaay deeper than I wanted to in this post, and I really don't want anyone thinking I'm saying any of this to get sympathy. I'm just getting it off my chest, so take it how you will. My coping mechanism is food and I can't indulge how I would be, so I'm thankful for the band. At the same time it sucks because I have to find something else to do at those times.
I'm a failure in my marriage. I'm rejected by my family. I'm rejecting my marriage. I'm failing as a wife. I'm failing in my family's eyes.
So right now I am down. My heart is hurt, it's bleeding, it's raw and tender. I don't know what the future holds for any of this, but I can tell you one thing peeps. I'm done with these feelings, I want them gone. If that means I have to rip this damned bandaid off full speed, then damnit that's what I will do.
Now if I could just get the courage to touch the damn bandaid I'd be ok. Fuck.
Love you all.
Totally Tuesday
Morning! It's rainy and chilly here in St. Louis today. One of those days where you want to put on your comfies and veg on the couch with a blanket and the movie The Notebook :-) :::sigh::: too bad I haven't won the lottery yet. :)
So today I'm wearing a new pair of slacks and I'm really self conscious. My old ones were a 26 and so big people at work called them my MC Hammer pants. So I got some new ones that are a 22 and until this morning I'd been scared to wear them. I had to today because my big ones were in the washer and I can't go to work in jeans unless it's Friday, so on they went. I <3 the pockets on the butt because they make me feel like I have one that isn't flat, but the thing I'm uncomfortable with is that they are more form fitting. It's been yeeeaaaarrrssss since I have had on anything that actually fits my body. I know you are all probably thinking.."Ramona, get over it and rock those pants." so I'm gonna try, because I love you all and feel most comfortable with your comments because you've all been there.
Here is my food for the day.
B-1 string cheese, 1 small piece bbq crockpot chicken(like 3 bites)-200 cals, 3 fat, 9 protein
S- coffee w/ sweet n low, FF Boston Cream Pie yogurt- 110 cals, 0 fat, 6 protein
L- Lean Michelena's lunch-garlic mashed pots and bbq chicken- 250 cals, 3g fat, 9 protein
      2 bites carrot cake-god knows how many cals
S- banana-??
D- 1/3 c. crumbled/browned lean hamburger w/pinch of cheese, 1/2 c. steamed corn-??
S- glass of milk
I think it looks ok, right?
No witty words of wisdom at the moment. We are having a food day at work tomorrow and I'm bringing turkey meatballs w/ bbq sauce and I think I'm going to bring my own turkey sandwich or something beacuse they are having pre-made sub sandwiches which as we know are full of bologna and salami and fat.
Have a good day all. I'll be back if my brain starts to function thru the mist. LOL
Love ya's!
15. In the spirit of Thanksgiving being right around the corner (US), what are you most thankful for, post-band? I'm so thankful for my heath improving. I can play with my son more even after only losing 30 lbs. He is my everything and I did this as much for him as me.
Work is calling, have a great Monday and i'm gonna make my rounds to the blogs. Love ya!
New addiction.....
HUMMUS! I got this at my local Aldi's for $1.69 per container. WOAH! If you have Aldi's near you, GO GET SOME! It's normally like $4.00 for this size container at the regular grocery store.
 It's sooooooooooooooooo great. I can't wait to try other flavors. Not to mention that its way better for me than regular dips, has good fats and protein. Yum!
Tahini flavor- sunflower and olive oils
Garlic lovers
Roasted Red Pepper.
I eat mine with 16 reduced fat wheat thins for a snack that keeps me going, tastes great and I don't feel guilty about. It was actually my breakfast today. LOL
ENJOY!
NSV!
So I'm at my desk, doing my work after lunch and I get a message from this nice lady on my team. She just wanted to tell me how great I look and that she can really tell I'm losing a lot of weight. This was my FIRST compliment/comment outside of my family since surgery. I don't even feel like I look super cute or anything, but hey, I'll take it. It really made my day and I had to post.
Love ya!
How YOU doin'?
Happy Monday peeps. How YOU doin'? I'm not too shabby. Weigh in was this morning and I am the exact same, to the ounce. Hmmmmm. It's better than gaining, but still man. So I'm changing things up this week and seeing if it helps. Here is my food today...
B-protein shake-fat free skim milk, Syntha6 Mochachino protein powder (33 g!), sugar free raspberry syrup
S- 16 mini reduced fat wheat thins, 2 tbsp hummus
L- lean pocket, apple sauce cup
S- string cheese
D- turkey burger w/ cheese (no bun), steamed broccoli
S- glass of milk
How does that sound? I know it looks like a lot, but really it's not a lot of food for me for a  16 hour day. I'm also going to Golds Gym tonight to work on the treadmill and do my arms. I feel good now that I'm thinning down to start toning up. I was also looking into getting some of these....opinions? I wonder if $80 is a good investment.
Sketchers ShapeUps $79.99
SKECHERS Shape Ups-Strength fitness shoes: 1. Tone your muscles 2. Promote healthy weight loss 3. Make it easy to get in shape!
Work is calling. Love you's!!
Recipe w/ pics!
Here it is, my Lasagna rolls. They came out sooo good and were so easy and fast to make. If anyone makes them, please let me know what you thought!
Ingredient List:
one box lasagna noodles
1 jar spaghetti sauce
2 blocks cream cheese-fat free and room temp
1 container skim low fat ricotta
1/2 lbs hamburger, italian sausage or any meat-browned and very small pieces(meat is optional)
garlic, pepper, italian seasonings-to taste
Preheat oven to 375
Boil water and cook one box of lasagna noodles. Drain and lay out on a towel to cool down.
Place one block cream cheese, cut up, in sauce pot with jar of red sauce, heat on simmer until pink in color.Let simmer
In a bowl, use mixer to blend other block cream cheese, ricotta,meat mixture and seasonings until creamy.
Smear down length of noodle, making sure not to make it tooo thick and roll tight.
Spread a little red sauce in the bottom of a 13x9 pan so the rolls dont stick. Then add the rolls.
Pour red sauce over all rolls and top with a little cheese. Bake covered for 45 mins, then uncovd for 10. This is the last shot I got. They were sooo good I forgot to take one. LOL
Changes
This morning my coworker and great friend made a comment about my photo on my work badge. She said you can tell a lot in my face that I've lost weight. I kindly said thank you and then proceeded to stare at it for the longest time. It's a terrible picture of me (aren't all work pics bad?), and does nothing to compliment my acne free skin (thank you birth control!).I've lost almost 30 lbs since taking this picture, that's what she was referring to. It does however accent the huge double chin I have and the fat cheeks. When I look in a mirror I still see this person. Perhaps it is from years of being a big girl, and perhaps it will take me a long time to see the changes happening. I've done a lot of research prior to surgery about the side effects of surgery. The dismorphia people experience as well as the depression that can come with it. I can't help but feel like I might have some of that going on. I don't feel smaller, I don't feel cuter and I don't feel it working. Now, I'm not trying to be all Debbie Downer over here, just speaking my mind. :-)
I'm sure there will be a time when I feel beautiful, thinner and more confident. I wish it would come the hell on. LOL. Today is what I call a "FAT DAY". My hands are a little swollen from the saltiness of my eggs this morning, and I just feel blah. Like I want to put on my sweats and become one with the couch until there are couch sores on my ass. I don't want to fake smile at people today or talk about their kids baby pictures. I just want to keep to myself today and that is rare because I'm a people person.
So here I sit, in my little cubicle that I often call my "office", swollen, hungry and a little melancholy. The only excitement I can muster is wishing I was home to post the pics from my awesome dinner last night so you all can enjoy its deliciousness like I did.
Hugs and kisses to all the ladies and gents (Hi Uncle Jon!). Thanks for being my sounding board and my friends. Without you, this journey might feel impossible.
PB and PP
Last night as I was enjoying some noodles and a few bites of baked chicken leg it happened. I got a pain in my chest, my mouth started to water and I ran like the devil was on my tail to the bathroom. Crying and panting I couldn't get it out, but all the heaving made me pee my pants. Now, even though I was all alone in there, I was embarassed. WTH!?! I know, I know...it happens. But still. I was sweating, crying, choking and peeing on myself. Good times right? :)
The culprit was a piece of noodle that I apparently just swallowed and didn't chew in the slightest. My fault completely of course. Ugh. Ok, that's off my chest now.
I'm in a cooking mood these days. I printed like 50 new recipes offline the other day (while pretending to work, heehee) and am making one tonight that is a variation of one I got off another blog I read.
Creamy Lasagna Rollups. Yum! I'll take pics and post if they aren't hard and come out. Oh, and I'm jonesing to make meatloaf muffins because I read Kathi's blog today and remember the recipe from Amy's blog too.
Oh, I'm also going to try to make cream cheese pumpkin muffins, low fat of course. Recipe and pics to come.
Toodles. Love ya's
Do they make a difference?
Good Morning!
The thought I have at the moment is if all the vitamins we take after surgery really make any difference in our weight loss. I've only been taking mine for a few days now, so I have yet to see any results that could be from them. So I'm putting this question out to you all. I have quite a few bandsters as followers and I'm hoping to hear from you all.
Do you think your vitamins make a difference in your weight loss??
Thanks for participating in advance.
Short and sweet
Its November. I have to say that again to really believe it. It's November. Woah! I know it's what everyone says, but DAMN GINA, where does the time go? It was just yesterday that I was starting my 6 month pre op diet plan in January and wondering how my life would be around the holidays this year. Craziness.
Weigh in was today, down 1 lb. Not sure why it's not more since I was on limited food since my fill thursday, but okie dokie. I'm journaling my food again as of today and starting my workouts tonight. Also I started taking my 6 daily vitamins, so we shall see if it makes a difference or not.
Down 29 lbs, so close to 30 I can smell it and am going to work my ass off this week to get to it.
Love you all! I will have 3 new recipes to post pics of by the end of the week, so stay tuned. Muwah!
Hungry Hungry Ramona
When I was little I used to love slamming my hand on the little lever of the Hungry Hungry Hippo game, screaming at the top of my lungs thinking it would make my little hippo eat the marbles faster than my brothers. Well that's how I feel today. I want to scream and eat, LOL. Can you tell I am still on liquids from my fill? :P
So my experience yesterday was interesting. Yes, that's the word I'm going to use because it wasn't bad, but not great either. I got to the hospital and it was pouring rain, thank god for valet parking (and the fact that they have it can be attributed to the abundance of older folks that come for treatments and such). Why the radiology department is on one side of the hospital campus (where dr does the fill under fluro) and the office is on the other is beyond me. But it's excercise so whatever. I got lost going down all the different hallways and arrived just in time for them to call my name and take me back. The cute little nurse in her full metal jacket (heehee) comes to get me and i go in and lay on the table. She shows me my band and port on the monitor and its super cool to see. Then my dr asks me how much I can eat. I said...A LOT! He says ok then, we will do 2cc's now and come back in 4 weeks for 2 more. :( :( :( Why not just do 4 cc's now? He says he doesn't want me back in a week for a unfill. Which makes sense, but come on people. I have a 17cc band. 17cc's. Does he really, honestly think I will be overfull with 6 cc's in it? Hmpf.
So anyway, he gives me the numby shot which burns like the pits of hell and pokes me with it again. OUCH! I actually said that and he kinda looked at me like, really? Whatever dude, it hurt twice and burned a lot. Bite me. As soon as my fill was done he said, see you in 4 weeks and walked away into the other room. I was like, um ok. Too bad if I had any questions for you, BUTTFACE. I was his last appointment of the day, I get that. But don't be like that to someone who hasn't seen your ass in 6 weeks. Ok, end of that rant. He is a good dr, I just didn't like being so discarded.
Anyway- then I hiked it over to the dr office and have my check up with the RN. Their scale says I've lost 26 lbs and she says I'm doing good. Um....k. Then I get my ass chewed for not taking my vitamins. She says I will lose more if I do, blah blah blah. Then I'm setting up my appt, excited that its for 4 weeks from now, when the secretary says "Honey, he's trippin, he's out of town till mid december". Good times. So 6 weeks is my new fill time. Blah!
Then I headed to Walgreens to spend $40 on vitamins. Calcium Citrate w/ D, Biotin and B12 sublingual. I already have a liqui-gel vitamin at home. I also bought one of those days of the week pill holders to keep in my purse. I'm officially a geriatric patient. LOL kidding.
I had mashed potatoes for dinner and snuck a little nibble of my moms chicken tender but it gave me a heartburn feeling so I stopped. I'm doing mushies today and hungry, but cest la vie. At least I will have restriction long enough with this fill so I won't partake in the abundance of chocolate Peyton gets tomorrow.
Is the rain here ever going to stop? It's rained for 10 days straight and they SAY it will be sunny and 60 tomorrow. Right, and monkeys might fly out of my butt! :P I just hope Peyton gets to trick of treat. He has talked of little else and seeing him so excited just makes my day. Not to mention the like 500 calories I will burn walking all over east Jesus with him. HeeHee.
Off to work I go. Have a great, safe, DRY Halloween weekend and don't forget to get that extra hour of sleep Saturday night. Muwah! :*
Fill #2 Day
Good morning everyone! I am feeling MUCH better from my episode the other day. When I called my surgeons office they said it was a "dumping" type thing that isn't super common for Bandsters, more with Bypass, but it can happen when you get too much sugar in your pouch, all my symptoms matched. So I slept for 4 hours and had some plain baked chicken for dinner to even out my blood sugar. Whew! I for sure will not be doing that again.
So today is fill#2 and from my prev post you all heard about me asking how much my fill will be cc wise, and the smart ass answers I got from the nurse. Well I'm hoping its at least 4 cc's to get this damn ball rolling because I'm 3 months out and should be rocking this band a little harder and with the right push I will be. My appt is at 315 today so I'm on liquids all day (minus the 2 mini chocolate donuts I relished early this am). I stopped and got a 20oz pumpkin spice cappicino and boy does it smell heavenly. Now if I can just wait to drink it so it doesnt scald my tongue :P
Have a great day ladies! I'll post again tonight or tomorrow with the update on the fill. Muwah!
Bad reaction
I'm pretty sure I'm either in sugar/food shock or something right now. I'm shaking, sweating, dizzy and having cramps in my stomach. My mouth is watering and my throat is burning.
What did I eat to do this? TOO MUCH CRAP!
I had some chinese food for lunch, followed by a slice of pecan pie. Within minutes of finishing the pie I began feeling this way. If it doesn't come up soon I'm going to have to go home because I'll be damned if I'm going to sit at my desk, shaking and sweating waiting to barf and being too far to make it to the bathroom.
Good lord I feel terrible. The food was NOT worth this pain. Ouch. :-(
Weigh in and rain
Happy Monday to you all! It's still raining here in St. Louis and it's getting on my nerves. We had to dress up today at work because the CEO is coming in for a office visit, so here I am in my nicest slacks and heels trudging thru the rain soaked parking lot trying to carry all my stuff. Ugh!
Weigh in day: 0. Nothing gained, nothing lost down to the ounce. I'll take it. I have my 2nd fill this thursday at 3 in the afternoon and am really excited about it. I'm hoping it will give me some restriction and get this ball rolling a little faster. I meant to start doing my walk away the pounds dvd's at home, but I've been going to bed early to try and get my little man into a routine for the wintertime before the time change this weekend, so I've been in bed by 10 or so lately and that doesnt leave much time for working out. It's not a excuse, just a reason ;)
Gotta go, work is calling. Love ya's!
Delish!!!
I found this recipe on another blog...amazing! All protein and hardly any carbs at all. You can also make them with turkey or another lunchmeat.
~~~~~~~
Eggs Florentine

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375. Fill greased muffin tins with deli sliced ham (to form little cups) and place fillings in bottom of cup. We tried the spinach and tomato they suggested on their site and also threw in some hashbrowns and broccoli. I think next time I'll add some diced onion

Step 2: Break 1 egg into each up and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Step 3: Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees, then top with cheese and bake 5 more minutes.

Step 4: Let them cool down and enjoy. We all really like them...the tomato and hashbrowns were the favorites!

Workout

Happy Hump Day!

I'm starting my workout program today. I've decided to start slow so I don't aggrevate my pneumonia. I got the Walk Away the Pounds DVD's that I can do in 20 minutes at home while my little man is playing nearby. My sister did them before her wedding and toned up a LOT so I'm hoping they work. Have any of you used them?

I noticed the tops of my thighs are getting saggy and that is not cool. I was hoping to only have to do a tummy tuck and boob lift once all of the weight loss was over and not a thigh or arm lift. Any tips on how to tighten those areas? (the bat arms and the flabby top thighs)

Gotta get back to work. Toodles

I'm driving the wagon Ms. Daisy...

Did you read that? I'm in CHARGE of this wagon. I'm taking CHARGE of my life one step at a time, starting with the only thing I can actually control 100% and that is my band. I can't make people do what I say, I can't change how people feel, I can't control the weather. But damnit, I CAN control this part and I'm doing it. YAY!

Today was weigh in day and I lost 3 lbs this week! :-) I'm at 28 since surgery and just went into another number arena. I'm almost to the weight I was when I had my son 3 1/2 years ago. WOOHOO!

~~~~~~~
Food today-
B-1/2 roasted chicken breast, 4 cubes cheese, water
S-coffee w/ splenda
L-salad w/ protein & vinnegrette
S-candy (im letting myself eat a tootsie pop each day, curbs my chocolate craving!)
D-pork roast, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli
Bedtime-milk
~~~~~~~

My weekend was full and fun. My sister's bday was Saturday so we had a family BBQ, then went out that night. I had a few mixed drinks for the first time since surgery and was very drunk. We had a good time and yesterday was a relaxing day for the most part, minus the cleaning the house. LOL.

I'm going to start actually doing work now, LOL. I'll check in on everyone later today. Love ya's!

Their loss, not mine...

I didn't get the new job :( They didn't say why, they just said they chose someone else and would keep me in the mind for the future. Why do they say that? Its not true and just not fair to give someone hope when you wouldnt choose them then either. Oh well. I'm trying to recite my thought of "Everything happens for a reason" over and over in my head. But I'm just ready to go to bed, my head hurts and I'm bummin.

Well excuuuuuse me...

I called my surgeons office today to ask how the Dr bases the amount he does for the fills. My 2nd one is Oct 29th and I was hoping to get more than 2cc's. Well the nurse asks me a bunch of questions about my eating habits and tells me I'm eating too many carbs, drinking during my meals and not having control of my portions. Um, excuse me? Did I call and ask you to tell me the things I'm doing wrong? Nope. I called to see how he bases how much fluid he uses for the fills. She then said he does it under fluro and will ask me about how much i can comfortably eat and base it on that, normally 2-4 cc's per fill. Well thank you miss smartypants, thanks for FINALLY answering my question after 10 minutes of being grilled by you on my habits.
Not to mention she asked if I had a journal, so I say yes I have a blog online. She then proceeds to talk about how only people who are struggling blog or journal about their band because the ones that are succeeding don't need help from others, therefore don't blog.

Um, WHAT? :(

I've never had any problems or experiences like this with the surgeons office, so I'm hoping I just caught her on a snippy day or something. Sheesh.

Well I'd like to tell my blog readers that I appreciate you taking your time to help me and support me on my journey. All of you are success stories and she can bite me BIG ASS!

Ahh, I feel better now. Love you's! Muwah :*

NSV

I'm pms'ing big time and also craving ice cream and cake. We have both of those things in the house right now, but I made a great choice tonight by having grapes and a peach as my bedtime snack, with water as my drink! :-)
I know it doesn't seem like a big NSV, but if you knew how out of control my cravings are at this time of the month, you'd know why I'm posting right now. Yay!!!!

Just say NO

That needs to be my new motto. Just say NO. You remember those red and black bumper stickers they gave out in elementary school for the D.A.R.E program? I need to tattoo it on my eyelids. LOL

Things I'm having trouble saying NO to:

Drinking while I eat
caffiene
snacks
candy
full fat mayo and salad dressings

Now, keep in mind I have ZERO restriction and am doing this pretty much on my own right now. But that's just a excuse. And excuses are like buttholes. EVERYONE has them, and they STINK! It's like I know these things are bad for me, but my brain farts or something and I eat them anyway. Alright, my frustration with myself is to the point where I have to curse for a second...FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

I hate being weak, and hate even more knowing that I am. I'm a little pissy today in case you can't tell and I'm sorry if the negative tone of my post is disturbing to some, but it's how I feel and this IS my blog so there ya go. :P

I'm done ranting at my own weakness and tomorrow is a new day, a bright (yeah right in missouri, lol) new day in which I will try my damndest to make great choices and excercise. Taking the elevator at work is so much easier than taking the stairs, but the elevator does nothing for my ass, so there ya go right?!

I love you all. If I didn't have support I'd probably be a bitchy hungry lady. LOL

Weigh in, pics and howdy's

Good Monday morning ladies and gents. Weigh in today was good, down 1 pound. :) Nothing else new on that front really.

I do have pics of me from last night. I wore my size 22 jeans and this cute black shirt to go out with my bff. Of course my son wanted to be in the pics, silly boy.

OMG, it's after 8am and I should be on my way to work already. Have a great day!

It's raining again here today. Last night was so relaxing, DH and I made breakfast for dinner and then layed around with Peyton watching tv and it was great. We have such a busy schedule that Thursday nights are our down time to watch tv and just veg out. We watch CSI and Grey's Anatomy. I just love Grey's, but I have been finding myself describing myself lately as "dark and twisty". Hmmmmm :-)

Mom and I are supposed to be doing the yard sale again tomorrow in one last attempt to get rid of all of Peyton's baby stuff before I donate it. I'm praying for no rain, but this is Missouri. We wait 5 minutes and the weather changes.

Ok, I have a rant. It won't make a lot of you happy I'm sure and I'm sorry about that. I hope you keep reading after this, and if you don't then again..I'm sorry.
I'm pissed off about something. Why in the HELL did Obama get a Nobel Peace Prize? He was nominated like 12 days after being elected. RIDICULOUS!!! He is doing his job people. He is doing peace talks and trying to make the world a better place. Um, didn't Clinton, and Bush and Reagan and Nixon all do that too? I mean WTF?! I'm not a racist in any way, shape, or form. But I can't help but feel that organizations are going out of their way to recognize him because he is the first black president. I'm proud that our nation can see past someones skin color and elect him based on his beliefs, but this is just kissing ass a little tooo much ya know? I didn't vote for him. I am a Republican. Does that mean I don't support him? No it doesn't. Any president deserves respect and support from his people and I will give it. But this? This is just going TOO FAR. He didn't ask for this, he was given this by a commitee of people who wanted to go down in history as the first ones to give the FIRST black president one of the most top honors in the world. It makes me sick. Ugh. I'm done.

If you are still reading and still like me then thank you and have a great weekend.

Love ya!
