What?!

I lost 2 lbs over the week of Thanksgiving? HOLY COW! I ate well and didn't over-indulge but I never in a million years expected to show a loss this week. :-)

I hope everyone had a great holiday. We did, lots of family time and time with my little man. I took a pic this weekend because I kept getting compliments on how my face looked thinner, and I have to say I agree. :)

Here is my work badge picture, this was taken the week before surgey, July 2009.

and Thanksgiving 2009

My BFF and sister went shopping with me at 4am Friday and I am done with all the kids, including my son. YAY! I'm half done with the husband and with my mom too. It was fun and saving over $200 was well worth getting up early to shop. I got myself 2 new tops for $3 each at WalMart and am wearing one today, its hot pink with a satin neckline with beads, so I feel cute today.

Food for today:

B-cappicino (bad i know, it was a treat)
S- 4 RF triscuits, string cheese
L- salad w/ cheese, tomatoes and light ranch, 1 grilled pork stick
S- sugar free pudding cup, pineapple bites
D- parmesean tuna patties & steamed broccoli

Alrighty, time to add my pic and post. I've also got a LOT of catching up to do on all of your blogs, you have been busy beavers. LOL

Love ya's!

Weigh in, and other ramblings

Weigh in-Down 2 lbs this week. Total is 32!! :) I wish it was double that, but the damn pnemonia kept me from working out like I wanted to. So my goal is to kick that into high gear so I dont stay at a plateau during the holidays.

My weekend was good, even though I was sick for all of it. I went to see New Moon not once, but twice! I love the books and LOVED the movie. I'm all about Edward, even though Jacob is a tasty morsel, he is 16 and that is just wrong for me at 30 to salivate over. LOL

L- small piece baked chicken, sauteed veggies
S- ff pudding cup, piece of candy
D- 4 turkey meatballs w/ sauce, few bites of pasta
S- glass of milk

Home sick

I'm home sick today. I woke up and my throat was super swollen, there was nasty dark green phlegm and my ears hurt real bad. So I'm in my sweats, feeling shitty, laying on the couch. I'll post more tomorrow.

Btw, thank you all for your supportive comments on my last post. I spoke to my mom last night, and while there is no definite answer, she understands more about how I feel. Progress is good.

Deep thoughts....

I'm full of them after the emotionally charged Tuesday I had, so bear with me. This post is not weight loss related, just my heart on a screen.

~~~~~~~~~~
Rejection-The act of being rejected, pushed away, denied something or someone, losing.
Failure- The act of not being successful.
Everyone experiences both of these things. I feel that it's how it effects you that molds your next step. I've been rejected for jobs I've applied for, but I pull my bootstraps tighter and keep on truckin. I've failed at a project or goal I've set for myself, and I've taken it in and shaken it off and moved on. Of course these are the easier examples and not why my heart hurts today. I'm experiencing both of these in full force in my personal life and as much as I'd like to tighten those boot straps and shake these things off, I can't. They are too big for that,and while I am a strong woman, it's harder than I ever anticipated.
It's hard to make you understand without telling all the icky details, which I'm not going to do, but I will do my best to sum up how I am feeling. Now, please understand, this is NOT a woah is me...poor Ramona...I'm such a loser type of post. I'm really venting and using a creative outlet besides singing and music to see if it helps me heal a little. Got that?  Good. Let's begin.
I'm in a place in my life where both rejection and failure are working hard together to break down my soul, my spirit, my everything. A lot of it is based on choices I made, and I can live with that part. But I DEPEND on my friends and family, especially my family. I'm the type of person that I will give anything and everything I have if it will help someone, especially family. We have had some serious issues in the last 5 years and while my actions and reactions were not perfect, I did what I could to make every situation easier and better if possible. So in return I expect support. I expect compassion. I expect unconditional love. Is this too hard? Apparently, and this is where part of the rejection comes in. I need my family right now and they are saying they will help me, BUT there are conditions. I'm sorry, what? There are what? Conditions to your assistance? I'm not asking for blood, a organ, money or even your posessions. I'm asking for unwaivering love, support and maybe a place to crash when the shit really hits the fan full speed. I'm being rejected not in a NO WAY JOSE kind of way, but in a....we love you and wanna help...BUT.... Wtf is that?
My tender heart can't understand why me (the good kid in the family) has restrictions on their love and help, but my brothers who have both been in prison and stolen, lied and done major drugs get help without question? Do I really have to resort to ruining my life completely before that kind of help/love steps in? If so, I'm screwed because I don't plan to make it any worse than i already have.
Here is a confession, revelation if you will. My marriage is not doing well and it's mostly my fault. I'm changing and have been for a long time(even pre op) and have been struggling with staying together as a family for my sons sake and saying screw my happiness, the other end is that I don't want to fail. I've been thinking about a trial seperation so we can see if it's meant to be or not. Being together all the time and fighting all the time is very stressful and I can't help but wonder if time apart will relight that spark, or show us that it's out forever. Now I know this is a huge thing to tell on a blog, but I'm always honest with you all. We are seeking counseling, it doesn't seem to be doing much but we go in hopes that it will. I'm at fault for this failure in my life. It's ME that is changing. He is still the amazing, thoughtful, hardworking, caring, great man and father that he has always been. It's my needs and wants that are making me question my happiness. Hence my failure. MY FAILURE.
I don't like failing, but I don't like settling either. I'm obviously confused about how I feel and being the super emotional type, it's taking it's toll on me, on US. Even on our little boy.
My mom, who is one of my BFF's thinks I should stay even if I am unhappy. Why you say? Because she did it for 25 years. She was in a unhappy marriage but stayed for the kids and feels I should do the same. Can I do that? Can I keep my passion and spark bottled up for my sons sake? I don't feel like I can and she can't stand it. I've asked her if I can come stay with her and she said no, because she is determined to make my marriage work and thinks I'm making a mistake. REJECTION.
I've gone waaaaay deeper than I wanted to in this post, and I really don't want anyone thinking I'm saying any of this to get sympathy. I'm just getting it off my chest, so take it how you will. My coping mechanism is food and I can't indulge how I would be, so I'm thankful for the band. At the same time it sucks because I have to find something else to do at those times.
I'm a failure in my marriage. I'm rejected by my family. I'm rejecting my marriage. I'm failing as a wife. I'm failing in my family's eyes.
So right now I am down. My heart is hurt, it's bleeding, it's raw and tender. I don't know what the future holds for any of this, but I can tell you one thing peeps. I'm done with these feelings, I want them gone. If that means I have to rip this damned bandaid off full speed, then damnit that's what I will do.
Now if I could just get the courage to touch the damn bandaid I'd be ok. Fuck.
Love you all.
Totally Tuesday
Morning! It's rainy and chilly here in St. Louis today. One of those days where you want to put on your comfies and veg on the couch with a blanket and the movie The Notebook :-) :::sigh::: too bad I haven't won the lottery yet. :)
So today I'm wearing a new pair of slacks and I'm really self conscious. My old ones were a 26 and so big people at work called them my MC Hammer pants. So I got some new ones that are a 22 and until this morning I'd been scared to wear them. I had to today because my big ones were in the washer and I can't go to work in jeans unless it's Friday, so on they went. I <3 the pockets on the butt because they make me feel like I have one that isn't flat, but the thing I'm uncomfortable with is that they are more form fitting. It's been yeeeaaaarrrssss since I have had on anything that actually fits my body. I know you are all probably thinking.."Ramona, get over it and rock those pants." so I'm gonna try, because I love you all and feel most comfortable with your comments because you've all been there.
Here is my food for the day.
B-1 string cheese, 1 small piece bbq crockpot chicken(like 3 bites)-200 cals, 3 fat, 9 protein
S- coffee w/ sweet n low, FF Boston Cream Pie yogurt- 110 cals, 0 fat, 6 protein
L- Lean Michelena's lunch-garlic mashed pots and bbq chicken- 250 cals, 3g fat, 9 protein
      2 bites carrot cake-god knows how many cals
S- banana-??
D- 1/3 c. crumbled/browned lean hamburger w/pinch of cheese, 1/2 c. steamed corn-??
S- glass of milk
I think it looks ok, right?
No witty words of wisdom at the moment. We are having a food day at work tomorrow and I'm bringing turkey meatballs w/ bbq sauce and I think I'm going to bring my own turkey sandwich or something beacuse they are having pre-made sub sandwiches which as we know are full of bologna and salami and fat.
Have a good day all. I'll be back if my brain starts to function thru the mist. LOL
Love ya's!
NSV!
So I'm at my desk, doing my work after lunch and I get a message from this nice lady on my team. She just wanted to tell me how great I look and that she can really tell I'm losing a lot of weight. This was my FIRST compliment/comment outside of my family since surgery. I don't even feel like I look super cute or anything, but hey, I'll take it. It really made my day and I had to post.
Love ya!
How YOU doin'?
Happy Monday peeps. How YOU doin'? I'm not too shabby. Weigh in was this morning and I am the exact same, to the ounce. Hmmmmm. It's better than gaining, but still man. So I'm changing things up this week and seeing if it helps. Here is my food today...
B-protein shake-fat free skim milk, Syntha6 Mochachino protein powder (33 g!), sugar free raspberry syrup
S- 16 mini reduced fat wheat thins, 2 tbsp hummus
L- lean pocket, apple sauce cup
S- string cheese
D- turkey burger w/ cheese (no bun), steamed broccoli
S- glass of milk
How does that sound? I know it looks like a lot, but really it's not a lot of food for me for a  16 hour day. I'm also going to Golds Gym tonight to work on the treadmill and do my arms. I feel good now that I'm thinning down to start toning up. I was also looking into getting some of these....opinions? I wonder if $80 is a good investment.
Sketchers ShapeUps $79.99
Work is calling. Love you's!!
Recipe w/ pics!
Here it is, my Lasagna rolls. They came out sooo good and were so easy and fast to make. If anyone makes them, please let me know what you thought!
Ingredient List:
one box lasagna noodles
1 jar spaghetti sauce
2 blocks cream cheese-fat free and room temp
1 container skim low fat ricotta
1/2 lbs hamburger, italian sausage or any meat-browned and very small pieces(meat is optional)
garlic, pepper, italian seasonings-to taste
Preheat oven to 375
Boil water and cook one box of lasagna noodles. Drain and lay out on a towel to cool down.
Place one block cream cheese, cut up, in sauce pot with jar of red sauce, heat on simmer until pink in color.Let simmer
In a bowl, use mixer to blend other block cream cheese, ricotta,meat mixture and seasonings until creamy.
Smear down length of noodle, making sure not to make it tooo thick and roll tight.
Spread a little red sauce in the bottom of a 13x9 pan so the rolls dont stick. Then add the rolls.
Pour red sauce over all rolls and top with a little cheese. Bake covered for 45 mins, then uncovd for 10. This is the last shot I got. They were sooo good I forgot to take one. LOL
Changes
This morning my coworker and great friend made a comment about my photo on my work badge. She said you can tell a lot in my face that I've lost weight. I kindly said thank you and then proceeded to stare at it for the longest time. It's a terrible picture of me (aren't all work pics bad?), and does nothing to compliment my acne free skin (thank you birth control!).I've lost almost 30 lbs since taking this picture, that's what she was referring to. It does however accent the huge double chin I have and the fat cheeks. When I look in a mirror I still see this person. Perhaps it is from years of being a big girl, and perhaps it will take me a long time to see the changes happening. I've done a lot of research prior to surgery about the side effects of surgery. The dismorphia people experience as well as the depression that can come with it. I can't help but feel like I might have some of that going on. I don't feel smaller, I don't feel cuter and I don't feel it working. Now, I'm not trying to be all Debbie Downer over here, just speaking my mind. :-)
I'm sure there will be a time when I feel beautiful, thinner and more confident. I wish it would come the hell on. LOL. Today is what I call a "FAT DAY". My hands are a little swollen from the saltiness of my eggs this morning, and I just feel blah. Like I want to put on my sweats and become one with the couch until there are couch sores on my ass. I don't want to fake smile at people today or talk about their kids baby pictures. I just want to keep to myself today and that is rare because I'm a people person.
So here I sit, in my little cubicle that I often call my "office", swollen, hungry and a little melancholy. The only excitement I can muster is wishing I was home to post the pics from my awesome dinner last night so you all can enjoy its deliciousness like I did.
Hugs and kisses to all the ladies and gents (Hi Uncle Jon!). Thanks for being my sounding board and my friends. Without you, this journey might feel impossible.
PB and PP
Last night as I was enjoying some noodles and a few bites of baked chicken leg it happened. I got a pain in my chest, my mouth started to water and I ran like the devil was on my tail to the bathroom. Crying and panting I couldn't get it out, but all the heaving made me pee my pants. Now, even though I was all alone in there, I was embarassed. WTH!?! I know, I know...it happens. But still. I was sweating, crying, choking and peeing on myself. Good times right? :)
The culprit was a piece of noodle that I apparently just swallowed and didn't chew in the slightest. My fault completely of course. Ugh. Ok, that's off my chest now.
I'm in a cooking mood these days. I printed like 50 new recipes offline the other day (while pretending to work, heehee) and am making one tonight that is a variation of one I got off another blog I read.
Creamy Lasagna Rollups. Yum! I'll take pics and post if they aren't hard and come out. Oh, and I'm jonesing to make meatloaf muffins because I read Kathi's blog today and remember the recipe from Amy's blog too.
Oh, I'm also going to try to make cream cheese pumpkin muffins, low fat of course. Recipe and pics to come.
Toodles. Love ya's
Do they make a difference?
Good Morning!
The thought I have at the moment is if all the vitamins we take after surgery really make any difference in our weight loss. I've only been taking mine for a few days now, so I have yet to see any results that could be from them. So I'm putting this question out to you all. I have quite a few bandsters as followers and I'm hoping to hear from you all.
Do you think your vitamins make a difference in your weight loss??
Thanks for participating in advance.
Short and sweet
Its November. I have to say that again to really believe it. It's November. Woah! I know it's what everyone says, but DAMN GINA, where does the time go? It was just yesterday that I was starting my 6 month pre op diet plan in January and wondering how my life would be around the holidays this year. Craziness.
Weigh in was today, down 1 lb. Not sure why it's not more since I was on limited food since my fill thursday, but okie dokie. I'm journaling my food again as of today and starting my workouts tonight. Also I started taking my 6 daily vitamins, so we shall see if it makes a difference or not.
Down 29 lbs, so close to 30 I can smell it and am going to work my ass off this week to get to it.
Love you all! I will have 3 new recipes to post pics of by the end of the week, so stay tuned. Muwah!
