Quick and filling dinner idea
Ok, since it's 1am and I'm up posting pics on here, I thought I'd show you my dinner from the other night. It was super easy, fast and yummy!
I made my own version of a BLT.
1 can chicken breast-drained
LF mayo
bacon crumbles (it doesnt take a lot to get the flavor)
shredded cheese
1 slice toast
3 slices tomato
i mixed the chicken, bacon, mayo and cheese together and spread it on the toast. Then I topped it with the tomatoes. Sounds stupid easy right? It's 20 g of protein and filled me up the rest of the night until mid morning the next day. Yum!

Mini Quiches...with PICS
Here ya go ladies. Step by step, including pics of the entire process. These can be refridgerated for up to 5 days. I put them 3 in a baggie and just grab on my way out the door in the morning. Also keep in mind you can use ANY meat and ANY veggies that you want.
Ingredients-
5 eggs
1/4 c. FF half and half
salt n pepper
grated parmesean cheese, about 1/4 cup
meat-cooked
veggies- cooked and seasoned
shredded cheese-the sharper the better the flavor
Preheat the oven to 350.
Spray the mini cupcake pan well. Dice meat and veggies into tiny pieces.

Seperate the meat and veggies evenly into the sprayed cups. I used bacon and turkey in one, and turkey and broccoli in the other half.

Mix the 5 eggs, parmesean and half and half together i a bowl and using a measuring cup or something even spoon egg mixture on top of fillings. It might take a minute to soak in, so go slow.Sprinkle with cheese, lightly.

Bake for 20 minutes and check, if eggs are set, take them out and let them cool. DONT OVERCOOK, the eggs will get really hard and be yucky.

I put a little hot sauce and some sour cream on mine if I can sit and eat them. Otherwise I just microwave them for 30 seconds and enjoy. If anyone makes them please let me know how they came out.
Should make 24.

Chasing the wagon
Hello everyone. I'm sorry it's been a week since I posted last. Life has been crazy and I've meant to 100 times :(
I'm sick AGAIN. The pneumonia is back and worse than before in my left lung. I have 4 different meds to take to try and get rid of it. If this doesnt' work then in 4 weeks I will have to go inpatient at the hospital for IV meds. So let's pray (if you do) that it won't get that far. I'm pretty miserable and just want to have a day when I don't hurt or wheeze. Ugh
I'm chasing the wagon.I gained 2 pounds this week. :( I fell off and it left me in the dust, grasping for the tailend. My first thing to do today is call and make a appt with my therapist from my pre-op psych visit to deal with not only head hunger, but dealing with eating things that are not good for me even in moderation because they are triggers for me. It's expensive to eat healthy and with money being so tight i've resorted to buying spaghetti and frozen pizzas and I need to at least get myself canned tuna or canned chicken for those times when I just need to stay away from the trigger foods.I also feel helpless because I can't workout until the pneumonia is gone and I know that is hindering my weight loss as well.
I know I owe you guys pics of the new clothes I got from Tiff, I also owe you the mini quiche recipes as well as pics. I will do this tonight, PROMISE!
Love ya's!

New Product Review
Ok guys. So we aren't *supposed* to drink soda, and I haven't in the 8 weeks since surgery. I don't know about you but I get sick of just water and I don't like Crystal Light, the flavors are yuck. I've NEVER been a tea person, ever. But I got these at Walgreens for $1 a box and they are AWESOME!
Diet Snapple Raspberry Iced Tea- Singles to go!

There are 8 sticks in a box and each one goes into one 16.9 oz bottle of water. I just use a bottle at work to shake it in, then pour it over ice in my bigger cup. The raspberry(and the peach) has 5 calories and nothing else. It also has caffiene and green and black tea extracts for energy, which I can feel but does NOT make me jittery at all. I could only find a pic of the Peach, but I only drink the raspberry. If anyone has a Walgreens near them, go look for these. If you like tea (and peeps like me that don't!) you'll love this. If you don't have a Walgreens in your area, send me a comment and I'll send you some to try. How's that for product happiness? :)
Enjoy

It's a beautiful Monday...
Good morning and happy Monday ladies. No, I didn't smoke any wacky tobacky this morning, heehee. I'm in a good mood and I'm determined to stay that way. It's sunny and beautiful here, I look cute in one of my new smaller size shirts and the best thing was my weigh in. I lost 3 lbs this week, for a total of 26 lbs since surgery! My 2 monthaversary is this thursday so I think that's a good number so far. Especially considering that my Aunt Flo came to visit late saturday night, I was expecting a huge gain because I'm so swollen, but nope. I guess the not drinking when I eat and staying away from the potato chips is really helping. I can't decide if I think my fill is helping at all or if I'm just trying harder. Hmmmm.
I was a cooking fool yesterday and made some mini quiches and took pics all along the way. I will post them and the recipe tonight after choir rehearsal.
Here is my food for the day.
B- 3 mini quiches
S- light string cheese
L- leftover fajita meat & grilled onions, few bites of black beans
S- FF Prairie Farms Raspberry Cheesecake yogurt
D- 2 bites of pulled pork roast, grilled chicken salad w/ light dressing, water
Have a blessed and beautiful day. MUWAH! :*

Portion sizes
So my mom and I were hungry today after a agonizing trip to the grocery store(never go hungry), and decided that fajitas sounded good and had a lot of protein for me. We headed to our local Chevy's and I ordered the combo fajitas that came with pork, shrimp, steak and chicken. Now, I asked for a box so I could automatically take half home, but HOLY CRAP! This came out and I was so shocked about how HUGE it was that all I could do was take out my phone and take a pic to share with you all.

I split it in half and STILL didn't finish it all. I didn't eat the tortillas (brought them home for wraps and such tho), and didnt eat any cheese or sour cream. It was sooo good but man it was a lot of food. So much so that I came home and took a nap. I'm still surprised at how much I can get down these days and am really making a effort to eat a small portion and then stop no matter what.
Also, I'm not taking drinks to the table with me when I eat. This has been hard to do because my mouth gets so dry but I'm trying at least. Aunt Flo came to visit today so I'm not expecting a good weigh in tomorrow, but at least the next monday the hard work *should* pay off. Let's cross those fingers. LOL
Have a great night everyone. Muwah :*

First Fill Day
Howdy! I had my first fill this morning and have some thoughts about not only the process, but wanted to relay what the Dr and I talked about and my take.
First of all, I had no idea I have a 17cc band. WTF? I didn't think they made them that big. Automatically I assumed (uh oh) that it was because I'm a fat ass and needed a bigger band, or that my stomach was so huge that a smaller one just wouldn't work. Well, I must still be trippin from my percocete because that isn't the reason at all. (PHEW!) The Dr said it's the newest size and allows for more fills and more restriction if needed down the road. Ah....I can take that. More success years from now. Good stuff maynard. (I say maynard a lot, i'm a goof i guess)
The actual fill didn't hurt, but damn if the lidocane shot didn't burn like a bitch. It was super cool to watch the fluid go in on the scree, my dr does it under fluro so I could see. I got 2cc's and will go back in 6 weeks for another 2 cc's. Obviously I'm on liquids today and can start mushies tomorrow. So for today this is my food.
B- 24 oz coffee w/ french vanilla creamer and splenda
L- pre packaged cup of applesauce, sweetened with splenda
D- pureed veggie soup
S- glass of milk
This is just in time for my period which should be coming this saturday.:::rolleyes::
Maybe it will help me not be a pig-whale and eat everything in sight.
I was chastized by the dr about drinking when I eat, and not taking a B12 supplement. He also said I need to be drinking a protein shake each day to ensure I'm getting enough. :Sigh: So this weekend I will be getting a blender and trying some shakes. I bought some of that super popular Torani syrup the other day online. I got coconut, carmel and raspberry. So I will try over the weekend and see what flavors I like together and hopefully something will work well and not be too narly to keep down.
Should I be burping like crazy right now? I have this slight pain in my chest and have been feeling like I could belch but can't. I'll have to read up on that.
The scale at the drs office is 4 lbs more than mine, so I'm going to keep track on mine and also write down theirs. The total is the same, but what woman wants to see a higher number? LOL
This saturday the Weight Loss Institute that I'm going thru is having the very first Walk From Obesity! We are raising money by doing a 5k for more research on WLS and ways to help prevent obesity in children. I'm stoked and will have pics on sunday for you all to see. I'm trying to raise $100 and have $25 so far, so if any of you would like to sponsor me in the walk please message me. Your name would go on the contribution to the Obesity Network.
Work is screaming my name, so I gotta run. Oh, and for the record...I'm HUNGRY! :( :)
Toodles.

Dreams do come true
Happy Monday my lovely followers. Today is weigh in day, so lets get that out of the way first. I'm down 1 pound from last week, so I'm at 293. Considering the way I have been eating I will take that pound. My plan this week is to walk 30 minutes each day and to play more physically with my son. Next week I will start going to the gym at night and do cardio and start working on tightening my arms.
Here is my food for the day.
B-1/2 c. white cheddar cheezits :(
L- 1/2 grilled chicken breast, 1/4 c. cheesy hashbrown casserole, sugar free koolaid
S- mini snicker bar
D- sandwich, baked chips, water
Not too shabby. I didn't bring a lot of snacks today and that's good. I do think I need to add in a protein shake at some point tho to make sure I'm getting it all in. I tried a few kinds and the only one I can really tolerate is the low carb slim fast. Maybe if I mix it in a blender with some peanut butter and banana it wouldnt be so bad. I've also been thinking of getting some sugar free syrups to add to them. Anyone have any recommendations??
Ok, so the title of my post today is that Dreams do come true. I got a email today that changed my life. Here is a little backstory for you all.
I love to sing. I've been singing all my life and was in choir and show choir all thru my school years. I went to college on a 5 year full scholarship for the Musical Theatre/Opera department. I loved every second of it, but the freedom of college caught up with me, I lost my scholarship for failing grades and couldn't afford to keep going so I stopped. I've been in a community choir now for two years. They aren't the best singers ever, but as a group we sound great and I love being a part of something musical on a weekly basis. Well, my dream my whole life has been to sing on Broadway in NYC, or to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC. The email I got today was from my choir director saying that our choir has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC in June 2010! I almost passed out reading it. I'm going to get my dream? I'm going to stand in a black ballgown on the stage at Carnegie Hall and sing my heart out? I'm going to visit NYC and see a real broadway show? Is this happening to me? YES YES YES it is and I cry everytime I think about it today. I'm so happy that words are escaping me, which is something extrordinary because I talk more than anyone on the planet. LOL I'm happy deep in my soul at this AMAZING opportunity that God has brought to me. Not to mention how HOT i'm going to look in June of next year. I'm not vain, just excited. HEHEHEHEHEEHEHE
Ok, that's my HUGE news of the day. I'm going to choir rehearsal tonight and even though I am exhausted on Tuesday (I'm up monday from 6am and go to bed around 12), I'm sure I will be tired with a big smile.
Love ya's!

A new size
I bought my first few pieces of clothing in a smaller size today. I haven't worn a 22/24 since about a year and a half ago. Sad, but true.
I got 4 new shirts at Fashion Bug and tonight I got a pair of dark wash,wide leg jeans that look great on my ass. HeeHee. I couldn't believe how easy they slid on and how good they looked. I'm going out tomorrow night for a party and will have DH take some shots in my new clothes.
Can you tell I'm excited? If anyone has any 22/24 clothes they don't want, I'll take them. I also have 26's that I will ship out, just let me know.
Going to bed now with a smile on my face. Love ya's!

Where have I been?
Sick still, that's where. I was off work for most of last week and half of this week. This pneumonia is resisting all the drugs they gave me and I ended up in the ER this past sunday with two Iv's and a CT scan. Following that I was in a percocete induced coma for the next 3 days until my son came down with Strep throat and I had to stay home with him and pray that I didn't get sicker. I didn't so far and am feeling better, but not great still.
I didn't record my weight last monday because I had been so sick and forgot to weigh myself. (honestly I did forget). When I did it this morning it said 293, so that would be 1 pound lost, but I'm not going to move my slider until Monday when I do the official weigh in.
I've been eating like crap. Pizza, burgers, fries, ice cream, chips. Basically how I used to and I know it's only for comfort since I was sick. I'm back on track and writing down my food intake so I can see what I'm doing to myself. Thank GOD my first fill is next thursday morning. The only thing I hope doesn't happen is that I'm not able to eat at all, that would suck ass.
Ok, this was a short update to let you all know I'm alive, still fighting the sickies, struggling with my food and looking forward to my fill next week. We have family coming in town this weekend, so I'll do another update on Sunday.
Have a great weekend ladies!
P.S Oh yeah, it's officially Football season and I'm a happy girl. I'm a tomboy and the girl that screams at the TV during a game. :)

L- tuna salad on white toast, pudding cup
S-(if needed) nacho cheese rice cakes
D- a few nachos, 1/2 bratwurst, water (going to the ballgame)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The title of my post refers to my son. Let me start by saying that I have ALWAYS been the parent that NEVER wants her kids sleeping in my bed. It's a bad habit that is terrible to break. However, my son is 3 1/2 and having bad dreams lately and wanting to come and snuggle with mommy, so instead of fight to get him back in his bed, we just pull him up with us and he is back out in minutes instead of hours. Now this usually means that my DH ends up on the couch because our son sleeps spread eagle and our queen bed just isn't big enough for the three of us that way.
So anyway, Peyton (my son)is a snuggle bug like his mom. I woke up this morning and he was curled up next to me, his warm little hand on my arm and his feet curled up by my stomach. I could feel his warm breath on my face and it was cozy and snuggly and just plain great. I lay there and stared at his perfect little face and felt such love that I couldn't help but reach around and squeeze him. He woke up and said" Mommy, don't squeeze me so hard, you might hurt your tummy." Awwwwww! He can be a terror sometimes but we are spending more one on one time together lately and I *LOVE* it! So even though I'm at work, and have to work tomorrow, I had a great start to my day by snuggling with my little love.
Tonight I am taking him to a baseball game with my BFF and her kids and I'm excited to see his eyes light up at the huge stadium, the big plate of nachos we will share and getting to drink soda (for him only) on a school night. These are the things life is made of, and the things I need to remind myself of when I let the stress get me down.
B- 2 slices Jennie-O deli turkey, 1 oz. mozzerella chunks, coffee w/ splenda
S- 1 small brownie :(
L- tuna salad on white toast, pudding cup
S-(if needed) nacho cheese rice cakes
D- a few nachos, 1/2 bratwurst, water (going to the ballgame)
The title of my post refers to my son. Let me start by saying that I have ALWAYS been the parent that NEVER wants her kids sleeping in my bed. It's a bad habit that is terrible to break. However, my son is 3 1/2 and having bad dreams lately and wanting to come and snuggle with mommy, so instead of fight to get him back in his bed, we just pull him up with us and he is back out in minutes instead of hours. Now this usually means that my DH ends up on the couch because our son sleeps spread eagle and our queen bed just isn't big enough for the three of us that way.
So anyway, Peyton (my son)is a snuggle bug like his mom. I woke up this morning and he was curled up next to me, his warm little hand on my arm and his feet curled up by my stomach. I could feel his warm breath on my face and it was cozy and snuggly and just plain great. I lay there and stared at his perfect little face and felt such love that I couldn't help but reach around and squeeze him. He woke up and said" Mommy, don't squeeze me so hard, you might hurt your tummy." Awwwwww! He can be a terror sometimes but we are spending more one on one time together lately and I *LOVE* it! Products review
I tried 2 new foods today and wanted to share with you all.
Snickers Marathon Nutrition Bar
I picked this up at WalMart for .98cents each, it was Dark Chocolate Crunch flavor and filled me up big time. It was sweet and more than enough to satisfy me thru 4-5 hours. Here is the nutritional info for a whole bar. They also have other flavors. I will be getting these again for breakfast, a snack or for car trips and the like.
Cals- 150
Fat- 4.5g
Sodium- 150mg
Carbs- 22g
Fiber- 7g
Protein- 11g
~~~~~~~
Now for the salty and cheesy or spicy mexican. My local grocery store had these in the rice cake aisle.

Quaker Tortillaz
Baked rice and corn crisps. Nacho or Spicy Guacamole flavor. I've had both and loved them both. They are the size of doritos, more crunchy and the perfect addition to a sandwich or even to take to the movies in place of popcorn.
Serving size is 15 crisps.
Cals-130
Fat-5g
sodium- 230mg
Carbs- 20g
Fiber 1g
Protein-4g
